That was the case with S&S Excavating, who recently took delivery of a custom Takeuchi TL12R2 Track Loader from Luby Equipment in Springfield, Illinois.
Building the Right Package
Working closely with S&S Excavating, Luby Equipment Sales Representative Clete Kaemmerer helped configure a machine that checked every box.
The foundation was a Takeuchi TL12R2 Track Loader, equipped with high-flow hydraulics and paired with a Vail Cutter Head—a powerful combination designed for demanding cutting and land-clearing applications.
But performance wasn’t the only priority.
The customer wanted something unique. So the TL12R2 was finished in a custom all-black paint scheme, creating a machine that stands out just as much visually as it does in the field.
“Customer wanted a black paint job, so we went ahead and delivered,” Kaemmerer said. “We gave him what he wanted, and it turned out to be a really nice package. It looks slick.”
First Impressions Matter
For Eric Cushman of S&S Excavating, the moment the machine arrived confirmed they made the right choice.
“We just received our brand new machine today,” Cushman said. “Our new Takeuchi had it all custom painted. Bought the machine from Luby Equipment. We’re really excited to give it a try and can’t wait to get it out there and do some work with it.”
Seeing the finished machine for the first time exceeded expectations.
“Just seeing it all blacked out like that—top notch,” Cushman explained. “It’s something you really don’t see anybody doing. When I first saw it, I was blown away. Very nice machine.”
