The Fecon Stumpex features low maintenance, only requiring grease and sharpening every 1,000 stumps due to its design with no carbide tools to replace and a replaceable hardened steel cone; the low RPM auger bit (7-16 rpm) provides a safer work zone with no high-speed flying debris, all resulting in a fraction of the work time compared to conventional stumpers. To operate the Stumpex®, align it vertically over the center of the stump, engage the hydraulics, and allow the two-speed motor to first quickly thread the cone into the stump before automatically shifting into high torque, then follow the Stumpex down without pushing or pulling (using the float function if needed) until the motor shifts back to high speed after going through the bottom of the stump, and finally, lift the unit vertically to repeat the process for stumps over 28
