I had a hydraulic problem on my skid steer and called all my local dealers in the lake Ozark area. They were all weeks out and really acted like they didn’t want to take the job. We called Luby Equipment out of Springfield and they pulled it in the next day to diagnose, and got the ball rolling. Travis at the desk answered all our phone calls and let us know the progress. If my Case machine needs work from here on out, I’ll be taking it to Luby. Customer service was tip top
Response from the owner:Cody, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We’re glad we could get you taken care of on such short notice. We know downtime is money lost, so keeping customers updated and getting machines back to work matters. We’ll make sure Travis and the Springfield team see this.

Why Drainage Matters in Missouri Agriculture

Drainage systems help regulate the water table, prevent crop damage, and improve the overall efficiency of field operations. Missouri’s diverse soil types—especially in bottomland and flood-prone areas—can benefit from strategically installed drainage tiles, ditches, and water management systems.

When time and precision are both priorities, compact excavators like the TB370 offer a balance of maneuverability and power that makes them well-suited for agricultural drainage work.

Introducing the Takeuchi TB370

The TB370 is a 7-ton class compact excavator equipped with advanced hydraulics, smooth controls, and versatile digging capabilities. It features a standard long arm, impressive reach, and a spacious operator cabin that enhances visibility and comfort.

Key Specifications include:

  • Operating weight: approx. 14,850 lbs
  • Maximum dig depth: 13 ft 4.8 in
  • Maximum reach: 21 ft 11.3 in
  • Auxiliary hydraulic flow: up to 31.7 gpm
  • 24.4 hp Yanmar engine (Tier 4 Final compliant)

These features help support efficient trenching for tile installation, grading for drainage swales, and general excavation work in tight spaces or uneven terrain.

Benefits for Drainage Projects

1. Precision Control for Tile Trenches

The TB370’s refined pilot controls and load-sensing hydraulics allow operators to make fine adjustments while trenching, which can be especially important when laying tile at consistent depths and slopes.

2. Maneuverability in Tight Farm Fields

Compared to full-sized excavators, the TB370 offers a more compact footprint, making it easier to access field edges, fence lines, and narrow ditches. This is particularly useful on smaller farms or when working near existing infrastructure.

3. Attachment Compatibility

With the right coupler, the TB370 can be outfitted with buckets, grading blades, or even compaction wheels. This versatility enables operators to complete multiple stages of a drainage project without needing to switch machines.

4. Operator Comfort for Longer Projects

The TB370’s cab includes an intuitive 8” touchscreen monitor, climate control, and adjustable suspension seat—features that contribute to operator focus and comfort during long days in the field.

Contractors and landowners in Missouri who are looking to invest in drainage capabilities often weigh equipment performance against local support.

Luby Equipment offers access to the Takeuchi TB370 with a range of ownership options, including rentals, leases, and financing. In addition to equipment availability, Luby supports customers with service centers, trained technicians, and prompt parts delivery across the state.

While each project is unique, the TB370’s capabilities align well with the needs of Midwest farmland, making it a strong candidate for those seeking to enhance their water management systems.

Similar Models to Consider

If you’re evaluating options alongside the TB370, a few comparable machines may also be worth exploring:

  • Takeuchi TB280FR: Offers full functionality with a side-to-side offset boom and minimal tail swing. Ideal for working near buildings or in confined spaces where flexibility is crucial.
  • CASE CX75C SR: A short-radius compact excavator that delivers strong digging forces and fuel efficiency. Suitable for utility and rural drainage work where space is limited.
  • Takeuchi TB290: A larger option than the TB370, offering greater dig depth and lifting capacity, ideal for more expansive fieldwork or deeper trenching needs.

Each of these models has strengths depending on the nature of the jobsite, trenching requirements, and operator preferences. Our team can help you compare features and determine which machine best fits your operational goals.
