I had a hydraulic problem on my skid steer and called all my local dealers in the lake Ozark area. They were all weeks out and really acted like they didn’t want to take the job. We called Luby Equipment out of Springfield and they pulled it in the next day to diagnose, and got the ball rolling. Travis at the desk answered all our phone calls and let us know the progress. If my Case machine needs work from here on out, I’ll be taking it to Luby. Customer service was tip top
Response from the owner:Cody, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We’re glad we could get you taken care of on such short notice. We know downtime is money lost, so keeping customers updated and getting machines back to work matters. We’ll make sure Travis and the Springfield team see this.

Toro Dingo Weight Range

Toro Dingos come in several models, each with its specifications. The weight of a Toro Dingo can range from approximately 1,600 to 2,600 pounds, depending on the specific model and configuration. Let’s look at some popular models:

  1. Toro Dingo TX 427 Narrow Track: Approximately 1,630 lbs
  2. Toro Dingo TX 427 Wide Track: Approximately 1,730 lbs
  3. Toro Dingo TX 1000 Narrow Track: Approximately 2,300 lbs
  4. Toro Dingo TX 1000 Wide Track: Approximately 2,610 lbs

It’s important to note that these weights are for the base machines without attachments. The weight can increase significantly when attachments or filled fuel tanks are added.

Several factors contribute to the overall weight of a Toro Dingo:

  1. Model size: Larger models like the TX 1000 series are naturally heavier than compact models like the TX 427.
  2. Track width: Wide track models typically weigh more than their narrow track counterparts, providing better stability and flotation.
  3. Attachments: The weight of attachments can add anywhere from 50 to several hundred pounds to the machine’s total weight.
  1. Fuel: A full fuel tank can add up to 100 pounds, depending on the model’s fuel capacity.
  2. Optional features: Additional features like cab enclosures or specialized controls can increase the overall weight.

Why Weight Matters in Compact Utility Loaders

Understanding the weight of your Toro Dingo is crucial for several reasons:

  1. Transportation: You need to ensure your trailer and towing vehicle can safely handle the weight of the Dingo plus any attachments.
  2. Ground pressure: Lighter machines exert less pressure on the ground, making them suitable for work on sensitive surfaces or landscapes.
  3. Stability: Heavier machines generally offer better stability, especially when lifting or carrying loads.
  4. Maneuverability: Lighter machines can be more agile in tight spaces, while heavier ones may provide more traction and pushing power.
  5. Lift capacity: The machine’s weight plays a role in determining its safe lifting capacity.

Choosing the Right Toro Dingo for Your Needs

When selecting a Toro Dingo, consider the following:

Attachments: Factor in the weight of frequently used attachments when considering the total machine weight.

Job requirements: Heavier models like the TX 1000 series offer more power and lifting capacity for demanding jobs, while lighter models like the TX 427 excel in confined spaces and on delicate surfaces.

Transportation limitations: Ensure your current transportation setup can handle the weight of the Dingo model you’re considering.

Terrain: Despite the added weight, a wider track model might be preferable for soft or uneven terrain.

Maintaining Your Toro Dingo

Regardless of the model’s weight, proper maintenance is key to ensuring your Toro Dingo performs optimally:

  1. Regular inspections: Check for wear and tear, especially on components that bear weight.
  2. Adequate cleaning: Remove debris and mud to prevent unnecessary weight and strain on the machine.
  3. Lubrication: Keep all moving parts well-lubricated to reduce friction and wear.
  4. Tire/track maintenance: Ensure proper inflation for wheeled models or tension for tracked models.
  5. Weight distribution: When using attachments, be mindful of weight distribution to maintain stability.

Luby Equipment offers various Toro Dingo models to suit different needs. Our expert staff can help you choose the right model based on your requirements, including weight considerations. We also provide comprehensive maintenance services to keep your Toro Dingo running smoothly, regardless of size or weight.

The weight of a Toro Dingo can vary significantly between models, ranging from about 1,600 to 2,600 pounds. Understanding these weight differences and their implications is crucial for selecting the suitable machine for your job and ensuring safe, efficient operation.

Whether you need a nimble loader for delicate landscaping work or a powerhouse for heavy-duty construction tasks, a Toro Dingo model fits the bill.
